Nottingham Forest Make Shock Late Move for 38-Goal Sporting Star Luis Suarez

Nottingham Forest have reportedly entered the race to sign Sporting CP striker Luis Suarez as the Premier League club explores a sensational late move for the prolific Colombian forward.

According to reports from French publication L’Équipe, Forest have begun the process of trying to bring the 28-year-old to England, with the transfer window approaching its final stages.

Suarez has emerged as one of the most sought-after forwards following an outstanding campaign in Portugal. The striker scored 38 goals in 53 appearances for Sporting last season, attracting interest from several major European clubs.

Nottingham Forest Enter the Race

Forest’s interest comes as a surprise because Suarez had recently been linked with Barcelona. The Spanish giants have been considering attacking options and reportedly identified the Colombian as one of their possible targets.

However, Forest’s intervention could now provide Suarez with a route to the Premier League. The English club are understood to be exploring the possibility of completing a deal before the transfer window closes.

Sporting are in a strong negotiating position, though, with Suarez contracted to the Portuguese club until 2030. Reports have also indicated that his release clause is around €80 million.

Sporting Face a Late Transfer Test

Sporting would seemingly have little reason to sell their star striker unless a significant offer arrives.

Suarez has already continued his goalscoring form this season, finding the net in Sporting’s 3-1 victory over Alverca. His overall record since joining the Portuguese giants has now reached 39 goals and seven assists in 56 competitive appearances, according to reports from Colombia.

That form explains why his market value has risen considerably and why Forest are willing to investigate a deal so late in the window.

Could Suarez Move to the Premier League?

A move to Nottingham Forest would represent another major step in Suarez’s career and would give him the opportunity to test himself in English football.

The Colombian previously spent time with Marseille before moving to Almería, where he established himself as a prolific goalscorer. His performances at Sporting have now placed him firmly on the radar of clubs across Europe.

Forest’s interest is therefore one of the more intriguing late developments of the transfer window. However, there is currently no confirmed agreement, and Sporting’s asking price could prove decisive.

With Suarez tied to the Portuguese club until 2030, Forest may need to make a substantial financial commitment if they are serious about completing the deal.

For now, the Reds have reportedly made their move, and the coming days could determine whether their ambitious pursuit of the 38-goal striker develops into one of the biggest surprises of the summer transfer window.
