adminTottenham Hotspur are on the verge of completing another significant piece of transfer business, with highly-rated defender Luka Vuskovic expected to finalise a move to Brighton & Hove Albion today, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Spurs have been one of the Premier League’s most active clubs during the summer transfer window, bringing in six new signings as Roberto De Zerbi continues his squad rebuild following back-to-back 17th-place finishes.
The Italian manager is determined to guide the north London club back up the table and challenge for the European places during the 2026-27 campaign.
Without the distraction of European football this season, Tottenham believe they can focus entirely on domestic competitions. Manchester United benefited from a similar situation by finishing third last season, and De Zerbi will hope further additions before the transfer deadline can help Spurs achieve a comparable improvement.
While Tottenham have already strengthened both their defence and midfield, the club’s attention has now shifted towards reinforcing the attack. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has identified Savinho as Spurs’ leading winger target, while Bournemouth youngster Eli Junior Kroupi also remains strongly linked with a move to north London.
As new arrivals continue to come through the door, departures are also expected, with Vuskovic set to become the latest player to leave.
According to Plettenberg, the Croatian defender is scheduled to undergo his medical on Monday before signing his contract with Brighton.
Although Tottenham were reluctant to part with one of their brightest young prospects, the teenager’s chances of regular first-team football would have been limited following the arrivals of Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke, while Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero also remain part of De Zerbi’s defensive options.
The deal is reportedly worth just under £50 million, with Tottenham also negotiating a 20 percent sell-on clause as part of the agreement. Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler is believed to have played a decisive role in convincing Vuskovic that a move to the Amex Stadium would provide the regular playing time needed for his development.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are also being linked with a remarkable move to bring Harry Kane back to the club next summer. Reports suggest Spurs have maintained close contact regarding their former captain’s situation and could offer the Bayern Munich striker a return to north London if the opportunity arises.
Kane has just one year remaining on his current Bayern contract, although the Bundesliga champions remain optimistic that he will agree fresh terms to extend his stay in Germany.
Since leaving Tottenham in 2023, the England captain has enjoyed a phenomenal spell at Bayern, scoring an incredible 146 goals in just 147 appearances. However, he continues to attract interest from several elite clubs, with both Barcelona and Real Madrid also monitoring his situation should he become available.
