I look at that goal and ask myself—what exactly is the issue here? Football is getting far too soft. Are strikers now expected to apologise for being physically stronger? It’s laughable.

Every year, they tweak the rules, especially around set-pieces, and it’s always the same story—the attacker gets the rough end of it. You battle for space, you use your body, you do exactly what every centre-forward has done for generations… and suddenly that’s a foul? No. I’m not buying it.

If that isn’t a goal, then I’ve lost all understanding of the game.

Strikers are being penalised for their power, for winning physical battles. What are we supposed to do—fade into the background and just watch?

And let’s be honest… it’s starting to feel like certain teams are being shielded. Because I genuinely cannot find a single reason why that goal shouldn’t have counted.

But you won’t hear the same outcry everywhere. If it had been another nation, maybe the reaction would have been different. Louder, perhaps.

For me, football ought to be straightforward—if it’s a goal, it’s a goal. Not this endless overanalysis, not this fear of physical contact.

This game is gradually losing a part of its very soul.
