Tottenham Hotspur have initiated contact with Atalanta over a potential move for Italy international Raoul Bellanova.

The Premier League club’s recruitment staff have approached the Serie A outfit to gauge the financial parameters of a possible transfer, as part of a wider summer overhaul designed to equip manager Roberto De Zerbi with a strengthened, high-calibre squad for the 2026-27 season.

Spurs have been highly active in the current window, boosted by a recent £100 million cash injection from the Lewis family trust via ENIC Holdings.

Following the arrivals of Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton (£52 million), Mateus Fernandes from West Ham (£85 million), and a club-record £100 million deal for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali, De Zerbi has now turned his attention to reinforcing his wide positions.

Bellanova, a compatriot of the Spurs boss, has been identified as a prime option for the right flank, offering the direct running and physical intensity required for De Zerbi’s demanding playing style.

A move for the 26-year-old wing-back has been made more plausible by a notable change in direction at the Gewiss Stadium. Under new Atalanta head coach Maurizio Sarri, Bellanova is reportedly no longer viewed as a central piece of the club’s long-term vision.

With Atalanta open to selling the defender to fund Sarri’s squad restructuring, a price tag in the region of €15 million (£13 million) to €20 million (£17 million) has been mooted.

Nevertheless, Tottenham will need to move swiftly to secure his signature, with competition heating up. Beyond interest from Massimiliano Allegri’s Napoli, several Premier League sides—including Fulham, Nottingham Forest, and Everton—are also monitoring the situation.
