According to Jamie O’Hara, Tottenham Hotspur must part ways with sporting director Johan Lange now that they have secured their Premier League survival.

On the final day of the season, Roberto De Zerbi’s side did just enough, beating Everton 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal from Joao Palhinha. Despite a tense second half, Everton rarely posed a real threat, and Tottenham cruised to victory.

With top-flight safety assured, attention has turned to how Spurs can rebuild and avoid a similar struggle in the future. O’Hara didn’t hold back, calling the season an embarrassment and insisting that Lange should be sacked. The former Tottenham midfielder also wants De Zerbi to be given the freedom to build his own squad this summer.

Writing on X, O’Hara said: “Well, we made it. Embarrassing season, but we got it over the line. So much has to change, starting with Johan Lange out the door. But we’ve got the gaffer—now let him build a new team.”

De Zerbi will expect backing in the summer transfer window as he looks to reshape the squad, moving some players on and bringing others in. He may also want to address what one former Spurs star described as a lack of creativity in the side.

How much money the Italian will have to spend remains unclear and could depend on player sales. De Zerbi has already earned praise for giving Tottenham a clear identity, and Spurs will hope his development of the team can reach another level next season. However, the Italian will not be able to offer European football to attract new signings, as Spurs finished 17th and will be out of continental competition entirely.
