Netflix has officially released a highly anticipated documentary chronicling the legendary history of the Michigan Wolverines football program. Titled “The Victors: A Michigan Football Legacy,” the six-part series dives deep into the rich traditions, unforgettable moments, and iconic figures that have made Michigan one of the most celebrated programs in college football history.
The project, produced by Emmy-winning director Samantha Holt, features never-before-seen footage, exclusive interviews with past and present players, coaches, and fans, and a detailed look at how the Wolverines built a reputation synonymous with excellence. Legends like Bo Schembechler, Charles Woodson, Tom Brady, and Jim Harbaugh are spotlighted alongside new heroes who continue the tradition today.
The documentary traces the program’s journey from its inception in 1879, highlighting milestone victories, fierce rivalries—most notably with Ohio State—and cultural impacts both within and beyond the sport. Netflix worked closely with the University of Michigan’s athletic department and alumni network to create an authentic and emotionally powerful story.
