PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women’s basketball Head Coach Erin Batth announced today [April 7] that graduate student Teneisia Brown (Montego Bay, Jamaica) has signed an athletic aid agreement and will attend Providence College and join the Friars for the 2025-26 season.
“Tee is an ultra-athletic forward and a great rebounder with an explosive first step and the ability to hit the mid-range jumper,” Batth said. “She is a Defensive Player of the Year and a conference champion, and with her experience, she will be a great leader for our incoming freshmen. We love her personality and commitment to excelling in the classroom. We are so excited to have her join the Friar Family!”
Brown, a 6-2 forward, played the last two seasons at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She played 64 games for the Knights, including 61 appearances in the starting line-up. During the 2024-25 season, Brown averaged 15.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game. She helped guide FDU to a 29-4 overall record, including a perfect 16-0 mark in the Northeast Conference, winning the NEC regular-season and tournament titles. The Knights earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, marking the program’s first appearance in program history. FDU was defeated by No. 2-seed TCU, 73-51, in the First Round.
While at FDU, Brown was a two-time All-NEC First Team selection (2024, 2025) and was named 2025 NEC Defensive Player of the Year. She also claimed 2025 NEC All-Tournament Team accolades and was named NEC Tournament Most Valuable Player.
In two seasons with FDU, Brown scored 890 points (13.9 ppg) and hauled in 568 rebounds (8.9 rpg), while shooting 51-percent from the field (372-734).
Prior to her arrival at FDU, Brown played two seasons at Merrimack (2020-22), where she saw action in 38 games. Brown played high school basketball for Mount Vernon and St. Andrew’s School. She was a NEPSAC Class AA All-Star in 2020 and claimed All-Conference Section 1 honors in 2019. She played travel ball for the Riverside Hawks.
Brown is the second transfer pick-up for the Friars this offseason, having signed Payton Dunbar from Virginia on March 26.
