A violent head-on collision has claimed the life of Valentina Gaggioli, a 27-year-old from Caraglio (Cuneo). The accident occurred in Gran Canaria, a Spanish island where the girl had been living for some time. On February 15, around 9:30 pm, the car Valentina was traveling in collided head-on with a van near Agüimes, close to the Crocodile Park Zoo.
Five people were injured in the impact, three of them seriously. The severity of the accident required the intervention of ten firefighters and as many paramedics.
The Italian girl was extracted from the wreckage still alive, but in very serious condition, in cardiac arrest. Rushed to the hospital in Gran Canaria, she died on Friday.
Valentina Gaggioli, as mentioned, was originally from Caraglio, but lived and worked in Agüimes with her mother. On social media, there are numerous messages of condolence from those who knew her. She attended college in Stroppo during middle school and graduated from the Hotel Institute of Dronero. The bureaucratic process for repatriating the body has been initiated, but it is not excluded, given the severity of the accident, that further investigations on what happened last Thursday may need to be carried out first.
