The Seahawks also released defensive end Rason Williams and running back TaMerik Williams.
Former Bessemer/Auburn cornerback released by Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks have released cornerback Ro Torrence, according to Tuesday’s NFL transactions report.
The Seahawks signed Torrence as a rookie free agent on May 3 after he had been passed over during the NFL Draft on April 25-27.
Torrence entered the NFL from Arizona State after playing two seasons with the Sun Devils.

Torrence intercepted four passes and caught five touchdown passes in 2018 for the most recent Bessemer City High School team to win a game in the AHSAA football playoffs.
From the Purple Tigers, Torrence went to the Blue Dragons of Hutchinson Community College for two seasons. In 2020, he was the NJCAA Defensive Player of the Year for the JUCO national-championship team.
Torrence returned to his home state for 2021, when he played at Auburn. In 10 regular-season games, Torrence registered one tackle. But in the Tigers’ 17-13 loss to Houston in the Birmingham Bowl, Torrence made four tackles, broke up a pass and forced a fumble.
Torrence transferred to Arizona State during spring practice in 2022.
The Seahawks also released defensive end Rason Williams and running back TaMerik Williams. Like Torrence, both players were undrafted rookies.
