Authorities have located the body of a woman from Florida who drowned over the weekend at Lake of the Ozarks. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 5, around 3:30 p.m., when 42-year-old Kendra Potter from Englewood, Florida, reportedly jumped off a moving boat near the 45 Mile Marker on the lake. The vessel, a 2024 Lowe SS270, was in motion at the time, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Potter was not wearing a life jacket when she jumped into the water. Shortly after entering the lake, she went beneath the surface and did not come back up. Authorities immediately launched a search-and-rescue operation in hopes of finding her, but the initial efforts were unsuccessful.
Two days later, on Monday, October 7, rescue personnel recovered her body. The discovery marked the conclusion of a challenging search operation that involved various rescue teams working in the area. Once the body was located, it was transported to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, where further arrangements were made.
The incident underscores the importance of water safety and the potential dangers of being on or near water without wearing a life jacket.
