Following a left tibia injury sustained against the Cowboys in Detroit, Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson had surgery.

(CBS DETROIT) During a third-quarter sack of Dallas’ Dak Prescott, defensive end Aidan Hutchinson of the Detroit Lions suffered a severe injury to his left tibia and had to be taken off the field.
Due to a lower leg injury, the team promptly declared him out for the rest of the match.
Following Sunday’s 47-9 victory over the Cowboys, Lions coach Dan Campbell said that Hutchinson would be staying in the Dallas region for surgery.
The Detroit Lions shared the following information regarding Hutchinson on Monday morning:
“At Baylor White Medical Center in Irving, Texas, Aidan Hutchinson had successful surgery last night to fix a fractured tibia and fibula.
It is anticipated that Hutchinson will fully heal before his return to Detroit this week. There is currently no schedule for when he will be able to play again.
In the third quarter, Hutchinson was hauling down Prescott when his leg seemed to snap above the ankle when it struck teammate Alim McNeill’s left leg.
There was a ten-minute delay as medical staff attended to Hutchinson while players from both teams formed a big circle around the second overall pick in the 2022 draft. “I haven’t seen it myself so I couldn’t really tell,” McNeill said. “I didn’t know if it was him or not, but I did feel somebody like leg-whip me, and then I see Hutch down. That’s wild to see. I hate that for him.”When you’re standing there and it’s one of yours and something like that occurs, it’s difficult for everyone,” Campbell added. “You get upset if you think about that too much and start acting a little shy. Thus, the guys immediately re-engaged and lived in the present.
Dallas players and teammates rushed to touch the 24-year-old after he was carried onto a cart with a cast on his leg.
Hutchinson’s 6.5 sack total earned him the title of NFC Defensive Player of the Month for September. He recorded a career-high 4.5 sacks against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2.
On Monday night, Hutchinson’s family sent the following message on Instagram:
The Red Wings needed to pick up two points and stop the run as they would be traveling for six of their next seven games. For the first time in nine seasons, Detroit hopes to qualify for the playoffs.
After stealing the puck from Larkin at center ice, Tuch scored his second shorthanded goal of the season on a breakaway. Larkin’s next two power plays more than made up for it.
