Nets exchange picks with the Rockets and Mikal Bridges to the Knicks.
A move across the Brooklyn Bridge for Bridges
The Brooklyn Nets are trading Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks for a haul of picks, less than 24 hours before the NBA Draft, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
In return for Bridges, the Nets secure Bojan Bogdanovic’s expiring deal, four unprotected Knick picks (25, 27, 29, 31), a 2028 pick swap and a protected Milwaukee Bucks pick (2025).
The two teams are also sending each other second round picks.
The Phoenix Suns traded Bridges to the Nets at the 2023 NBA trade deadline as a key piece returning in the Kevin Durant deal
Bridges averaged 19.6 points on 37.2 percent three point shooting, 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.0 steals. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2022 and is yet to make an All Star team.
The transaction may be a sign of things to come with OG Anunoby’s pending free agency.
The Nets have also agreed to deal the 2027 Phoenix Suns pick (the Durant deal), to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the 2026 pick they sent out in the 2021 James Harden deal.
The Rockets get the right to swap either of the 2025 Houston, Oklahoma City Thunder picks for the Suns’ 2025 firs. The Texas franchise will also get the more favorable pick between the 2029 Dallas Mavericks and Suns first round picks.
