PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men’s basketball announced today (April 3) that freshman Daquan Davis (Baltimore, Md.) has signed an athletic aid agreement to attend Providence in 2025-26.
Davis, a 6-1, 176-pound guard, has three seasons of eligibility remaining. He played his freshman season at Florida State. In his rookie season, Davis started 20 of the 31 games he played. He was third on the team in scoring (8.8 ppg). He led the team in assists (77/2.5 apg) and free throw percentage (.826/90-109). Davis ranked ninth in the ACC in free-throw percentage. He recorded a career-high 19 points when he shot 5-6 from field versus Western Carolina on November 26, 2024. He scored 10 or more points in eight games in 2025-26. Davis registered six games with four or more assists, including a career-best 10 assists at Miami on January 8, 2025. Prior to attending Florida State, Davis played for Overtime Elite in 2023-24. He averaged 17.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game with Overtime Elite. Coming out of Overtime Elite, Davis was ranked in the top-100 by 247Sports (No. 94) and Rivals (No. 95). He also was ranked nationally by On3 (No. 106). Davis played for Team Takeover on the Nike EYBL and led Team Takeover to the U16 title at the Peach Jam in 2022 with a team-high 19 points.
“Few players in America we’ve studied more than Daquan Davis,” English said. “From our staff being on hand for his 2023 WCAC Championship game to all the winning he’s done in his young career. I take great pride in Daquan being the first player I’ve gotten the pleasure to coach from my hometown. His toughness and mentality are infectious. We are excited to welcome Daquan and his family back to Friartown.”
