Former South Carolina football quarterback Tanner Bailey hit the transfer portal last offseason. However, unlike most players who transfer, he did not try to join another program. Instead, Bailey stepped away from football and enrolled at Auburn University as a student.
On Wednesday, though, Bailey reversed course on his short-lived retirement. The former 4-star prospect in the class of 2022 announced on social media his commitment to Hugh Freeze’s program. After a year away from the game, Tanner Bailey will be back on the gridiron.
An Alabama native, Bailey spent two seasons with the Gamecocks. He played in one game, the 2023 contest against Furman. Thanks to a redshirt, he should have three more years of eligibility remaining with the Tigers.
