Season 13 of *Chicago Fire* is slated for release on September 25, 2024, with notable cast changes and new developments. The series, a central piece of the *One Chicago* franchise, continues to follow the lives of firefighters and paramedics at Firehouse 51. Over the years, the show has seen several cast members come and go, and this upcoming season brings its own shifts in the ensemble.
Several key characters are leaving the show. Alberto Rosende, who played Blake Gallo, exits after his character reunites with family and moves away in Season 12. Kara Killmer, known for her portrayal of Sylvie Brett, also departs. Her character, a long-running paramedic, married Matt Casey and relocated to Oregon, marking her exit from the series. Another major departure is Eamonn Walker, who portrayed Chief Wallace Boden since the show’s inception. Though he won’t be a regular, Walker will appear occasionally in a recurring role as his character steps into a higher rank, away from Firehouse 51. Walker’s contributions to the show were honored with the unveiling of “Eamonn Walker Way” at Cinespace Studios, where the series is filmed.
As these characters exit, new faces join the cast. Dermot Mulroney will play Dom Pascal, the new firehouse chief, taking over from Boden. Additionally, Jocelyn Hudon, who appeared in Season 12, is promoted to series regular, portraying paramedic Lyla Novak. Jake Lockett, who joined the show in Season 11 as Sam Carver, is also elevated to regular status, following his storyline’s increasing prominence. His character’s romantic arc with paramedic Violet Mikami heated up last season but left viewers on a cliffhanger as Carver abruptly took leave. Michael Bradway returns as firefighter Jack Damon, a role that shook up the team in previous episodes when it was revealed he was Kelly Severide’s half-brother.
Returning regulars include Taylor Kinney, Miranda Rae Mayo, Christian Stolte, Joe Miñoso, and others. With new dynamics and fresh storylines, *Chicago Fire* is gearing up for another season of personal and professional drama, produced by Universal Television and Wolf Entertainment. Fans can expect the same high-stakes action that has kept the show running successfully for more than a decade.
