GULF SHORES, Ala. (WKRG) — A Gulf Shores man who was originally arrested on drug charges is now being charged with possession of child pornography, according to the Gulf Shores Police Department.
A GSPD news release said officers with the Criminal Patrol Unit made a traffic stop on Feb. 3 on a man they were investigating after receiving a report that he had been selling narcotics.
During the traffic stop, that man, now identified as 29-year-old Stephen Terry Sewell Jr., was found with cocaine that amounted to $14,000 in street value, marijuana, digital scales, cell phones and $3,500 cash, according to officials, the release said.

At that time, Sewell was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, the release said.
Police said they were able to get a search warrant and seized all the phones and sent them to the Gulf Coast Technology Center for analysis.
According to the release, multiple photos of child pornography were allegedly found on the phones.
Sewell is now charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, the release said.
Gulf Shores officials said this remains an active investigation.
