PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men’s basketball announced today (April 4) that senior Jaylin Sellers (Columbus, Ga.) has signed an athletic aid agreement to attend Providence in 2025-26.
Sellers, a 6-5, 205-pound guard, has one season of eligibility remaining. Sellers has spent the last two seasons at the University of Central Florida. Due to an injury, he only played three games in 2024-25. In 2023-24, Sellers led UCF in scoring (524/15.9 ppg) as he scored in double-digits in 29 of the team’s 33 games. His 15.9 points per game average ranked fourth in the Big 12. He recorded a career-high 34 points on 12-16 shooting against Stetson on November 26, 2023. Sellers ranked second on the team in free-throw percentage (.830/126-152). He also averaged 3.6 rebounds per game. For his efforts, he was named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2024.
Sellers began his college career at Ball State. In his sophomore season in 2022-23, he averaged 13.5 points and 3.7 rebounds. His 13.5 points per game ranked second on the team. Sellers also shot 45.0 percent from three (54-120), which ranked second in the MAC. He scored 20 or more points in five games. Sellers posted two double-doubles, including an 18-point, 14-rebound effort against Indiana-South Bend on November 19, 2022. He received All-MAC Third Team accolades in 2023.
During his freshman season at Ball State, Sellers appeared in all 31 games and made five starts. He scored 207 points (6.7 ppg). Sellers shot 24-54 from three (.444). He was named to the 2022 MAC All-Freshman Team.
In 98 games of collegiate action, Edwards has scored 1,169 points (11.9 ppg). He has shot 37.3 percent from three (132-354) and grabbed 294 rebounds (3.0 rpg).
“Jaylin Sellers and his family are great additions to our group,” Head Coach Kim English said. “Jaylin’s maturity and commitment to his game and career really excites us. He plays with an edge defensively, that coupled with his aggression offensively will be a great mix to the guys we currently have. Jaylin has done it in the Big 12. We love that he’s a proven guy at the high-major level.”
