On Saturday afternoon in Orlando, Fla., a trio of South Carolina players are set to take the field at UCF FBC Mortgage Stadium for the 2025 Hula Bowl, which is a postseason collegiate all-star game.
The Gamecocks who are set to compete in the Hula Bowl are offensive lineman Torricelli Simpkins III, wide receiver Gage Larvadain and defensive back O’Donnell Fortune , according to a roster posted on draftcountdown.com. Kickoff on Saturday afternoon in Orlando is set for 12 p.m.
Simpkins, who used his final year of eligibility at South Carolina after transferring from North Carolina Central, started every game at right guard for South Carolina in 2024.
“I had a lot of fun this season,” Simpkins said prior to the Citrus Bowl. “This was a great season. I loved every bit of it. Building relationships. Building a brotherhood with these guys. … It was great building relationships with these guys.”
Larvadain, who transferred to South Carolina after one season at Miami (OH) and two at Southeastern Louisiana, finished his final year of eligibility with 19 receptions for 223 yards and a touchdown. His one touchdown reception came against Wofford. Larvadain also had 79 yards against Akron, 39 yards against Ole Miss and 34 yards against Vanderbilt. In his four years of college football, Larvadain caught 157 passes for 2,154 yards for 14 touchdowns.
Fortune wrapped up his career at South Carolina with a strong season as he logged 47 tackles (41 solo) while breaking up six passes and intercepting three. The 2024 season was Fortune’s best year statistically in his final season with the Gamecocks.
His three interceptions in 2024 came against Old Dominion, Alabama and Texas A&M. In his five years suiting up for the Gamecocks, Fortune tallied 108 total tackles, 16 pass breakups and seven interceptions in 44 games played which includes 25 starts.
