With the 2024 season almost upon us in September, Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, left the team’s NFL training camp early due to illness. The Ravens will be concerned about Jackson’s loss because he guided his team to the AFC Conference Championship game, where they were defeated 17-10 by the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Jackson passed for 3678 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Although the nature of the illness is unknown, NFL insider Josina Anderson described it as “pretty bad” when he pulled out of Sunday, July 22, preseason warm-up camp. Even if Jackson is healthy, the illness might be a problem and hurt the Ravens’ season opener since he would miss out on crucial time to develop a rapport with his newest running back, Derrick Henry. After departing the Tennessee Titans in March, Henry joined the group. At thirty years old, he is already in his senior NFL years, yet in 2023, he still managed to carry for over a thousand yards and twelve touchdowns. Throughout the course of his 119 games with the Titans, he ran for 2030 yards and 90 touchdowns, covering 9502 yards overall.
His acquisition was a significant addition to the Maryland team, which is hoping to win the Super Bowl for the first time since 2012, when they defeated the 49ers 34–31 in the rivalry game between the two brothers’ coaches.
Who do the Ravens play first?
On Thursday Night Football on September 5, 2024, the Ravens and Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs will replay their AFC Conference Championship game as the team’s Super Bowl opener. The game is scheduled to begin at Arrowhead Stadium at 20:20 ET/17:20 PT and will be televised by NBC.
