Tom Loy, a national recruiting analyst for 247Sports, is predicting that offensive tackle Carde Smith will commit to the USC Trojans football program. Recently, Trojans Wire highlighted the increasing likelihood of the Trojans landing Smith, a blue-chip offensive tackle, during his official visit to USC.
Carde Smith, standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 300 pounds, is a four-star offensive tackle from Mobile, Alabama. He recently decommitted from Auburn and had planned to visit Mississippi State in Starkville, but he canceled that trip to attend USC’s final summer recruiting weekend. Following his official visit, Smith praised USC highly. The Trojans’ offensive line coach, Josh Henson, has been under pressure to secure more highly-rated prospects, and landing Smith would be a significant achievement.
Earlier this week, Henson added Elijah Vaikona, a massive offensive tackle from local Rancho Santa Margarita High School. Now, USC is the frontrunner to sign Smith, a consensus four-star offensive tackle with offers from 10 SEC schools. If Smith commits, he will be the third offensive lineman and second tackle for USC’s 2025 class, joining Willi Wascher and Vaikona.
Top Alabama prospect and former Auburn commit, Carde Smith, has received a crystal ball prediction to USC from Tom Loy at 247Sports. While these predictions are not always definitive, this could be a major addition for USC, especially following Vaikona’s commitment.
