Tottenham receive huge Castello Lukeba boost: RB Leipzig could offer £15m discount
Tottenham Hotspur have received a significant transfer boost as they weigh up a move for Castello Lukeba of RB Leipzig.
With potential defensive departures expected this summer, Spurs could see major changes at the back ahead of Roberto De Zerbi’s first full season in charge.
While young defender Luka Vuskovic has impressed and shown readiness for senior involvement, Tottenham are still expected to strengthen their centre-back options.
Lukeba has emerged as a key target, and Spurs’ pursuit has now been boosted by fresh developments regarding his future.
Leipzig set asking price and plan summer sale
According to reports, Lukeba has already reached an understanding with Leipzig that he will be allowed to leave this summer. The German club view the upcoming window as the ideal moment to sanction a departure and are prepared to make him their main sale of the transfer period.
Although the French international has a release clause in the region of £70m, intermediaries have indicated that an offer closer to £55m could be enough to secure his signature.
Premier League competition intensifies
Tottenham are not alone in the race.
Intermediaries have also informed several top English clubs — including Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC, and Manchester United — about Lukeba’s availability.
Liverpool are said to maintain a long-standing interest, while Manchester United are also firmly in the mix for the highly rated defender.
Despite the competition, Tottenham are expected to enter the conversation if they remain in the Premier League, setting up a potential transfer battle for one of Europe’s most promising young centre-backs.
