Leicester City could be without their leading scorer, Jordan James, for their Easter Monday trip to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday.
The promising midfielder has netted 10 goals for the Foxes this season since arriving from Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais, while also contributing several assists. After missing a spell earlier in the year with a hamstring issue, James has become an important figure in Leicester’s fight against relegation.
However, doubts have emerged over his availability after he limped off while on international duty with Wales last week and returned to Leicestershire. Speaking on Monday, Wales manager Craig Bellamy confirmed: “JJ unfortunately picked up an injury during the game. He tried to continue but the pain was too much, so he’s returned to Leicester.”
Manager Gary Rowett will be anxious for positive news as his side faces a demanding schedule, with crucial fixtures that could help them climb out of the Championship’s bottom three.
Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday boss Henrik Pedersen may have one less concern if James is unavailable, as he looks to secure his team’s first home win of the season.
There may be some encouragement for Rowett ahead of their Good Friday clash with Preston North End, with Aaron Ramsey and Jannik Vestergaard potentially nearing a return.
Harry Souttar could also rejoin the squad as Leicester aim for a strong finish to the season and fight to avoid relegation to League One.
